So I am decorating my bedroom, being a single man I decided to go for a modern look, greys and lime (sounds odd but, trust me, it works). I needed supplies for decorating and took my boys to Hobbycraft to surf for supplies. They were browsing the shop, which can take hours with Harry, *lol*, and so I found myself wandering around in the needlecraft section. After a moment of panic (A MAN in the needlework section????? How unheard of!), which was followed by relief (none of my friends were there so none of them had seen me), I relaxed and had a guilt free gander at what there was on offer. And that’s when I spotted it! The perfect accompaniment to my new room décor! A gorgeous Maia kit called “Rag Time” (pictured below). After all this time it is still a WIP but one day it may be hung where it was intended.
Since finding this piece I joined Facebook and created my Alter-Ego – Tattoo’d Cross Stitch Man – and joined some cross stitch groups to explore my new hobby further with like-minded people. I have been introduced to the wonders of higher stitch counts, stitching over one thread and a myriad of other cross stitch tricks, tips and goodies. And so my journey into the wonderful world of Cross Stitching began.
More about my exploits in serial starting, and meeting all the Facebook enablers next time.
So like my thread.........I'm gonna get knotted!
